September 2018 has been a whirlwind of a month. It included domestic and international travel, a music festival and some sunny weather. This month I went to Singapore and then spent a significant amount of time in sunny San Diego. Summer feels like it went by in a blink of an eye and I know I’ll be longing for some warm weather as soon as the temperatures start to really drop.

Most Popular Instagram Post in September 2018
It has been an incredibly quiet month on Instagram, with only two photos posted.
Books Read in September 2018
I have yet to finish a single book in September. There are so many books I have started and am halfway through. My favorite book that I have been reading through this month is Secrets of Six-Figure Women: Surprising Strategies to Up Your Earnings and Change Your Life by Barbara Stanny.
There are so many valuable pieces of information throughout the books and really inspiring stories as well.
One of the quotes from this book so far that I love is:
The inner work of wealth means identifying and overcoming those internal barriers that trip us up. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about life, it is this: Nothing changes until we do.
The whole book is filled with so much beautiful language and sentiment. I can’t wait until I finish it.
Favorite Podcast Episode Listened to in September 2018
My favorite podcast this month was from Fire Drill Podcast titled How to Create Passive Income from Etsy Digital Products.
Fire Drill started a mastermind group to help those interested in create digital products for Etsy. It was six weeks long and they all checked in and helped each other where they could. In this episode, the two hosts an two other people from the mastermind group all checked in with each other and talked about the products they created, how they came up with their ideas and how their Etsy stores were doing now.
I loved hearing about how different the products were that everyone created and how helpful having the mastermind group was for support and accountability. It was really a fascinating episode and so full of information. You can listen to the episode here.
Favorite Restaurant in September 2018
It was restaurant week in San Diego when I visited so my favorite restaurant this month was The Butcher Shop. The Butcher Shop is a classic steakhouse in San Diego.
My favorite dish from all the courses was the crab-stuffed scallops wrapped in bacon. The bacon and scallops were all perfectly cooked and I loved the decadence of the meal.
Best Thing I Cooked in September 2018
Did I even cook anything this month? Maybe one or two dishes but nothing significant. The only meal I can remember cooking this month was a quick naan filled with cumin-roasted chickpeas, avocado and a greek yogurt lemony dressing which made a small appearance in my How to Throw Together a Meal Even If You Have Nothing to Make post.
With all of the traveling, I have mostly been eating out but I can not wait to start cooking and eating homemade meals again.
Favorite Movie in Theaters in September 2018
September was also a light month in movie watching since I was traveling so much. These are the movies I saw:
- Mission Impossible -Fallout
- A Simple Favor
While I have been excited to see A Simple Favor for months, I thought the actual movie was weird and somewhat disappointing. I wasn’t really sure what to expect with Mission Impossible because I have never seen a Mission Impossible movie before, I was pleasantly surprised. 🙂
Favorite Netflix Movie in September 2018
I’m going to count movies on airplanes as well because that’s where I spent most of my time watching movies this month.
I love watching old romantic comedies and classics that I have yet to see while traveling. This month my favorite movie was Top Gun. I had only seen it once before. It was the perfect San Diego themed movie and I loved the soundtrack.
On the plane I started watching My Cousin Vinny which I have never seen before and figured I could just continue on the next flight but they didn’t have it on the next flight so now I am just waiting to find the movie streaming somewhere because I’m 3/4 of the way through and really enjoying it!
Looking Forward to October 2018
For October, I’m looking forward to settling in at home for a little while before a lot more travel come the end of the year.
I’m looking forward to cooking some more, increasing my productivity (especially when it comes to reading and maybe posting on Instagram too) and decorating for fall and Halloween in general.
What are you looking forward to in October of this year? Any plans for Halloween? Do you have your costume yet?
