What It’s Like to See the Radio City Rockettes

Radio City Rockettes and New York City during the holidays! What could be better? The air is brisk, the streets are decorated and the holiday spirit is around every corner.

It’s also one of the only times of the year to see the Radio City Rockettes live at Radio City Music Hall. And if you want to see them, you should make sure to get your tickets in advance.

The show is stunning and visual and the whole theater is transformed into an experience.

The lobby of theater is decorated absolutely beautifully.

They serve champagne in the lobby of the theater (something I was curious about before going), which adds to the festive spirit of the show.

The show is completely immersive and really an experience to be had. Just be sure to get there early because it takes awhile to get through security and the show will start even before everyone is inside. We arrived early and kept getting redirected until we were finally in the right line for ticket holders. But, a bunch of people were let in before us and we were the last ones through the doors and through security so we missed the very beginning of the show.

After the show, head to the top of Rockefeller Center to Bar 65. Here you can enjoy a cocktail and an amazing view that spans from Brooklyn to Jersey and everything in between from the 65th floor. This has similar views that you get from the Top of the Rock Observation Deck but you don’t need to buy a ticket to get up to the bar and restaurant, although there is less space to move around. The added benefit is that you can enjoy a drink and dinner while taking in the wonderous views.

Have you ever seen the Rockettes live? Do you know a Rockette? What was your experience like?
